By default, the ROG XREAL R1 puts a virtual screen in front of your eyes that moves with every turn of your head, keeping your content front and center. For an experience that’s more similar to using a standard display that you can look away from as necessary, you can toggle Anchor Mode.
Requiring no additional software on the connected device and powered by the glasses’ built-in 3D depth of field (DoF) technology, Anchor Mode allows you to pin your display to a fixed virtual position. Look away from it and see the real world or — if you're gaming — your other screens. Thanks to the display’s ultra-high refresh rate, images on the virtual screen will stay sharp and crisp even as your head is in motion. The glasses will even adapt their brightness to match your environment's lighting. You can also tint them manually.
